The Quote For This Week:
“Some stuff isn’t worth your energy. Learn to pick and choose your battles.“
Its meaning:
In our daily lives, a lot of things, both major and minor, keep happening. Imagine if we sat down and worried about all of them? How much time and energy would we then be left with for our own self, our own internal battles? Not enough, for sure.
Everybody has to face hardships in life, some of them re inevitable. But you can pick and choose the others. Instead of fighting with your own self, crying all night and therefore, wasting your time and energy, you can get yourself prepared for the next battle outside! The battle outside is inevitable. You have to face it. So, prepare for that!
Our Thoughts On It:
Being self aware plays a major role in your life. If you know the value of your time, worth and energy, you’ll know what events deserve them and which ones don’t. That’s how you’ll decide the battles which you need to fight and the ones you don’t need to bother yourself about, the ones which will just be a waste of your time and energy.
So, how do you pick which battles you should face/fight?
That’s really simple. Observe what battles you are facing in your daily life. Then, think of how much time and energy you are wasting fighting that battle. If that’s a lot of time and energy, then ask yourself a question,
“Is the time and energy I am putting in to fight this battle, worth it?”
If that’s a yes, then you’re making a good choice. But if that’s a no and you’re spending your time and energy for nothing, then stop it. Stop making yourself feel exhausted. Those are the battles you don’t need to fight.
Another thing we’d like to touch upon here, is overthinking. That’s something which takes up a lot of your energy and mental space unnecessarily. Speaking from experience, overthinking really isn’t worth it. You won’t get anything out of it. It just creates another unnecessary battle for yourself.
Final Thoughts:
Spend your time and energy wisely. Don’t waste them fighting unnecessary, petty battles, save them for things that are beneficial to you, that make you happy, save them to cheer yourself up, save them to fight the bigger battles.
Imagine the petty things as small rocks life throws at you, and the bigger things as boulders. Don’t waste your energy splitting small rocks that life throws at you. They’re already small. But use them to thrash the bigger, the more fatal boulders that life throws at you.
