Quote For This Week:
You can’t know if you don’t try.
Its Meaning:
Oftentimes, we decide that we can’t do certain things while in reality, we actually don’t know! We could if we try, or at least you’ll know you can’t if you try. So, try things out!
Try anything you think you couldn’t do. You’re probably thinking you cannot do those because you’re scared or unwilling to try it out in the first place. You never know how you are in that field unless you give it a shot and know whether it’s a sixer or a duck out.
Our Thoughts On It:
When you try something for the first time, it may seem challenging, but who knows, you might develop an interest in it and actually become good at it! If not, you can feel good knowing that you at least tried the thing instead of avoiding it and that you went beyond just thinking about it and actually did it. Trying new things also paves way for new opportunities for you to grow and learn that you wouldn’t have had otherwise. It could also turn out to be a way to discover hidden talents you never knew you had!
When you’re trying out a new sport or auditioning for something, you have “trials”. This is to find out whether you’re good at it. If you would attend those trials and get selected, yay! If not, at least you know you’re not that good at it, could do better or you could give it another shot. Trying also makes you strive for betterment, which is a good thing in itself. There are literally zero disadvantages in trying things out.
If you’re afraid of trying something out because you think you’ll mess it up or make mistakes, it’s better if you ignore that thought and try it out. We all make mistakes. No one has it figured out at first. Your favourite artist’s first painting was probably as bad as yours. The best athlete in the world probably lost in their first competition. What matters is you keep trying, keep making mistakes, learn from them and get better at whatever it is that you want to do.
In the process of trying out new things, you may even discover a new hobby that makes you happy or physically active, or one that forces you to think out of the box. It’s a good way to discover new things you may never have known about, and to bring in newfound ways of spending your free time, that you otherwise probably would’ve spent idly. Trying things is also a great way to get to know your interests, your likes and dislikes. It can help you become more self aware and also push you to expand your comfort zone and do more than you think you could’ve.
If you don’t try out new things and keep on repeating the same limited things you know, you’ll be missing out on a LOT of things life has to offer, miss out on opportunities to learn more and ultimately you’ll also get bored of doing the same stuff over and over again.
Final Message:
So with that, we advise you to explore things to do and try them out. If you fail, you could keep trying if you’re interested in what you’re doing. If not, try out something else. Always keep trying, it brings out amazing results. If Thomas Edison didn’t try to make a bulb with a thousand failed attempts, we would still be living our lives with candles and campfires.
