Comparison:
After this comes something most people do on a daily basis — compare. We gotta tell you, comparison is bad if it’s done with regard to others. You should compare things with you from the past, how you’ve gotten better or worse. As it is said,”You shouldn’t measure your progress with someone else’s ruler.” Cliché, but true. You should not compare your progress with the unit of someone else’s progress. Are you better in your field of work than you were a week or a month ago? If yes, you’re on the right track.
Comparison could be beneficial, when you start getting motivated by it. Your fire should burn brighter, seeing how bright other fires are, and not extinguish thinking the other fires have always been, are and will be brighter. That sort of beneficial comparison is a healthy comparison. You have to get motivation, ideas and energy seeing others do the thing you’re doing, but better. If you feel like you’re doing it the best, reconsider.
Remember,
“If you feel like you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room.”
